Servants of Christ
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
1 Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.1 Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.1 Let a man so account of us, as of ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.1 LET a man so account of us as of the ministers of Christ, and the dispensers of the mysteries of God. 1 Let a man so reckon us as officers of Christ, and stewards of the secrets of God,
2 In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy.2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.2 Here, moreover, it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.2 Here now it is required among the dispensers, that a man be found faithful. 2 and as to the rest, it is required in the stewards that one may be found faithful,
3 But to me it is a very small thing that I may be examined by you, or by any human court; in fact, I do not even examine myself.3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.3 But to me it is a very small thing to be judged by you, or by man's day; but neither do I judge my own self. 3 and to me it is for a very little thing that by you I may be judged, or by man's day, but not even myself do I judge,
4 For I am conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; but the one who examines me is the Lord.4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.4 For I know nothing against myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord.4 For I am not conscious to myself of any thing, yet am I not hereby justified; but he that judgeth me, is the Lord. 4 for of nothing to myself have I been conscious, but not in this have I been declared right -- and he who is discerning me is the Lord:
5 Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts; and then each man's praise will come to him from God.5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.5 Wherefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall each man have his praise from God.5 Therefore judge not before the time; until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts; and then shall every man have praise from God. 5 so, then, nothing before the time judge ye, till the Lord may come, who will both bring to light the hidden things of the darkness, and will manifest the counsels of the hearts, and then the praise shall come to each from God.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
6 Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, so that in us you may learn not to exceed what is written, so that no one of you will become arrogant in behalf of one against the other.6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.6 Now these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes; that in us ye might learn not to go beyond the things which are written; that no one of you be puffed up for the one against the other.6 But these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollo, for your sakes; that in us you may learn, that one be not puffed up against the other for another, above that which is written. 6 And these things, brethren, I did transfer to myself and to Apollos because of you, that in us ye may learn not to think above that which hath been written, that ye may not be puffed up one for one against the other,
7 For who regards you as superior? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?7 For who maketh thee to differ? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? but if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory as if thou hadst not received it?7 For who distinguisheth thee ? Or what hast thou that thou hast not received ? And if thou hast received, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it ? 7 for who doth make thee to differ? and what hast thou, that thou didst not receive? and if thou didst also receive, why dost thou glory as not having received?
8 You are already filled, you have already become rich, you have become kings without us; and indeed, I wish that you had become kings so that we also might reign with you.8 Now ye are full, now ye are rich, ye have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.8 Already are ye filled, already ye are become rich, ye have come to reign without us: yea and I would that ye did reign, that we also might reign with you.8 You are now full; you are now become rich; you reign without us; and I would to God you did reign, that we also might reign with you. 8 Already ye are having been filled, already ye were rich, apart from us ye did reign, and I would also ye did reign, that we also with you may reign together,
9 For, I think, God has exhibited us apostles last of all, as men condemned to death; because we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and to men.9 For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.9 For, I think, God hath set forth us the apostles last of all, as men doomed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, both to angels and men.9 For I think that God hath set forth us apostles, the last, as it were men appointed to death: we are made a spectacle to the world, and to angels, and to men. 9 for I think that God did set forth us the apostles last -- as appointed to death, because a spectacle we became to the world, and messengers, and men;
10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are prudent in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are distinguished, but we are without honor.10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye have glory, but we have dishonor.10 We are fools for Christ's sake, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are honourable, but we without honour. 10 we are fools because of Christ, and ye wise in Christ; we are ailing, and ye strong; ye glorious, and we dishonoured;
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
11 To this present hour we are both hungry and thirsty, and are poorly clothed, and are roughly treated, and are homeless;11 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace;11 Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling-place;11 Even unto this hour we both hunger and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no fixed abode; 11 unto the present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and wander about,
12 and we toil, working with our own hands; when we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure;12 And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:12 and we toil, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure;12 And we labour, working with our own hands: we are reviled, and we bless; we are persecuted, and we suffer it. 12 and labour, working with our own hands; being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer;
13 when we are slandered, we try to conciliate; we have become as the scum of the world, the dregs of all things, even until now.13 Being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.13 being defamed, we entreat: we are made as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things, even until now.13 We are blasphemed, and we entreat; we are made as the refuse of this world, the offscouring of all even until now. 13 being spoken evil of, we entreat; as filth of the world we did become -- of all things an offscouring -- till now.
14 I do not write these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children.14 I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.14 I write not these things to shame you, but to admonish you as my beloved children.14 I write not these things to confound you; but I admonish you as my dearest children. 14 Not as putting you to shame do I write these things, but as my beloved children I do admonish,
15 For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.15 For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.15 For though ye have ten thousand tutors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I begat you through the gospel.15 For if you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet not many fathers. For in Christ Jesus, by the gospel, I have begotten you. 15 for if a myriad of child-conductors ye may have in Christ, yet not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus, through the good news, I -- I did beget you;
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
16 Therefore I exhort you, be imitators of me.16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.16 I beseech you therefore, be ye imitators of me.16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me, as I also am of Christ. 16 I call upon you, therefore, become ye followers of me;
17 For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, just as I teach everywhere in every church.17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who shall put you in remembrance of my ways which are in Christ, even as I teach everywhere in every church.17 For this cause have I sent to you Timothy, who is my dearest son and faithful in the Lord; who will put you in mind of my ways, which are in Christ Jesus; as I teach every where in every church. 17 because of this I sent to you Timotheus, who is my child, beloved and faithful in the Lord, who shall remind you of my ways in Christ, according as everywhere in every assembly I teach.
18 Now some have become arrogant, as though I were not coming to you.18 Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.18 Now some are puffed up, as though I were not coming to you.18 As if I would not come to you, so some are puffed up. 18 And as if I were not coming unto you certain were puffed up;
19 But I will come to you soon, if the Lord wills, and I shall find out, not the words of those who are arrogant but their power.19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will; and I will know, not the word of them that are puffed up, but the power.19 But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will: and will know, not the speech of them that are puffed up, but the power. 19 but I will come quickly unto you, if the Lord may will, and I will know not the word of those puffed up, but the power;
20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power.20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.20 For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.20 For the kingdom of God is not in speech, but in power. 20 for not in word is the reign of God, but in power?
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
21 What do you desire? Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love and a spirit of gentleness?21 What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?21 What will ye? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness?21 What will you ? shall I come to you with a rod; or in charity, and in the spirit of meekness ? 21 what do ye wish? with a rod shall I come unto you, or in love, with a spirit also of meekness?
