Jehoshaphat Succeeds Asa
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
1 Jehoshaphat his son then became king in his place, and made his position over Israel firm.1 And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel.1 And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel.1 And Josaphat his son reigned in his stead, and grew strong against Israel. 1 And Jehoshaphat his son reigneth in his stead, and he strengtheneth himself against Israel,
2 He placed troops in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim which Asa his father had captured.2 And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.2 And he placed forces in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.2 And he placed numbers of soldiers in all the fortified cities of Juda. And he put garrisons in the land of Juda, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken. 2 and putteth a force in all the fenced cities of Judah, and putteth garrisons in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim that Asa his father had captured.
His Good Reign
3 The LORD was with Jehoshaphat because he followed the example of his father David's earlier days and did not seek the Baals,3 And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim;3 And Jehovah was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto the Baalim,3 And the Lord was with Josaphat, because he walked in the first ways of David his father: and trusted not in Baalim, 3 And Jehovah is with Jehoshaphat, for he hath walked in the first ways of David his father, and hath not sought to Baalim,
4 but sought the God of his father, followed His commandments, and did not act as Israel did.4 But sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.4 but sought to the God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the doings of Israel.4 But in the God of his father, and walk in his commandments, and not according to the sins of Israel. 4 for to the God of his father he hath sought, and in His commands he hath walked, and not according to the work of Israel.
5 So the LORD established the kingdom in his control, and all Judah brought tribute to Jehoshaphat, and he had great riches and honor.5 Therefore the LORD stablished the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honor in abundance.5 Therefore Jehovah established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought to Jehoshaphat tribute; and he had riches and honor in abundance.5 And the Lord established the kingdom in his hand, and all Juda brought presents to Josaphat: and he acquired immense riches, and much glory. 5 And Jehovah doth establish the kingdom in his hand, and all Judah give a present to Jehoshaphat, and he hath riches and honour in abundance,
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
6 He took great pride in the ways of the LORD and again removed the high places and the Asherim from Judah.6 And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the LORD: moreover he took away the high places and groves out of Judah.6 And his heart was lifted up in the ways of Jehovah: and furthermore he took away the high places and the Asherim out of Judah.6 And when his heart had taken courage for the ways of the Lord, he took away also the high places and the groves out of Juda. 6 and his heart is high in the ways of Jehovah, and again he hath turned aside the high places and the shrines out of Judah.
7 Then in the third year of his reign he sent his officials, Ben-hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;7 Also in the third year of his reign he sent to his princes, even to Benhail, and to Obadiah, and to Zechariah, and to Nethaneel, and to Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah.7 Also in the third year of his reign he sent his princes, even Ben-hail, and Obadiah, and Zechariah, and Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;7 And in the third year of his reign, he sent of his princes Benhail, and Abdias, and Zacharias, and Nathanael, and Micheas, to teach in the cities of Juda: 7 And in the third year of his reign he hath sent for his heads, for Ben-Hail, and for Obadiah, and for Zechariah, and for Nethaneel, and for Michaiah, to teach in cities of Judah,
8 and with them the Levites, Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah and Tobadonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.8 And with them he sent Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests.8 and with them the Levites, even Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijah, and Tob-adonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.8 And with them the Levites, Semeias, end Nathanias, and Zabadias, and Asael, and Semiramoth, and Jonathan, and Adonias, and Tobias, and Thobadonias Levites, and with them Elisama, and Joram priests. 8 and with them the Levites, Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijath, and Tob-Adonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests.
9 They taught in Judah, having the book of the law of the LORD with them; and they went throughout all the cities of Judah and taught among the people.9 And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the LORD with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.9 And they taught in Judah, having the book of the law of Jehovah with them; and they went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught among the people.9 And they taught the people in Juda, having with them the book of the law of the Lord: and they went about all the cities of Juda, and instructed the people. 9 And they teach in Judah, and with them is the Book of the Law of Jehovah, and they go round about into all cities of Judah, and teach among the people.
10 Now the dread of the LORD was on all the kingdoms of the lands which were around Judah, so that they did not make war against Jehoshaphat.10 And the fear of the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.10 And the fear of Jehovah fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.10 And the fear of the Lord came upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Juda, and they durst not make war against Josaphat. 10 And here is a fear of Jehovah on all kingdoms of the lands that are round about Judah, and they have not fought with Jehoshaphat;

13 He had large supplies in the cities of Judah, and warriors, valiant men, in Jerusalem.13 And he had much business in the cities of Judah: and the men of war, mighty men of valor, were in Jerusalem.13 And he had many works in the cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty men of valor, in Jerusalem.13 And he prepared many works in the cities of Juda: and he had warriors, and valiant men in Jerusalem. 13 and he hath much work in cities of Judah; and men of war, mighty of valour, are in Jerusalem.
14 This was their muster according to their fathers' households: of Judah, commanders of thousands, Adnah was the commander, and with him 300,000 valiant warriors;14 And these are the numbers of them according to the house of their fathers: Of Judah, the captains of thousands; Adnah the chief, and with him mighty men of valor three hundred thousand.14 And this was the numbering of them according to their fathers houses: Of Judah, the captains of thousands: Adnah the captain, and with him mighty men of valor three hundred thousand;14 Of whom this is the number of the houses and families of every one: in Juda captains of the army, Ednas the chief, and with him three hundred thousand most valiant men. 14 And these are their numbers, for the house of their fathers: Of Judah, heads of thousands, Adnah the head, and with him mighty ones of valour, three hundred chiefs.
15 and next to him was Johanan the commander, and with him 280,000;15 And next to him was Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand.15 and next to him Jehohanan the captain, and with him two hundred and fourscore thousand;15 After him Johanan the captain, and with him two hundred and eighty thousand. 15 And at his hand is Jehohanan the head, and with him two hundred and eighty chiefs.

19 These are they who served the king, apart from those whom the king put in the fortified cities through all Judah.19 These waited on the king, beside those whom the king put in the fenced cities throughout all Judah.19 These were they that waited on the king, besides those whom the king put in the fortified cities throughout all Judah.19 All these were at the hand of the king, beside others, whom he had put in the walled cities, in all Juda. 19 These are those serving the king, apart from those whom the king put in the cities of fortress, in all Judah.
