Regulations concerning Priests
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
 Then the LORD said to Moses, "Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them: 'No one shall defile himself for a dead person among his people,1 And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none be defiled for the dead among his people:1 And Jehovah said unto Moses, Speak unto the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say unto them, There shall none defile himself for the dead among his people;1 The Lord said also to Moses: Speak to the priests the sons of Aaron, and thou shalt say to them: Let not a priest incur an uncleanness at the death of his citizens: 1 And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Speak unto the priests, sons of Aaron, and thou hast said unto them, For any person a priest is not defiled among his people,
 except for his relatives who are nearest to him, his mother and his father and his son and his daughter and his brother,2 But for his kin, that is near unto him, that is, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother.2 except for his kin, that is near unto him, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother,2 But only for his kin, such as are near in blood, that is to say, for his father and for his mother, and for his son, and for his daughter, for his brother also, 2 except for his relation who is near unto him -- for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother.
 also for his virgin sister, who is near to him because she has had no husband; for her he may defile himself.3 And for his sister a virgin, that is nigh unto him, which hath had no husband; for her may he be defiled.3 and for his sister a virgin, that is near unto him, that hath had no husband; for her may he defile himself.3 And for a maiden sister, who hath had no husband: 3 and for his sister, the virgin, who is near unto him, who hath not been to a man; for her he is defiled.
 'He shall not defile himself as a relative by marriage among his people, and so profane himself.4 But he shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.4 He shall not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.4 But not even for the prince of his people shall he do any thing that may make him unclean. 4 A master priest doth not defile himself among his people -- to pollute himself;
 'They shall not make any baldness on their heads, nor shave off the edges of their beards, nor make any cuts in their flesh.5 They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.5 They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.5 Neither shall they shave their head, nor their beard, nor make incisions in their flesh. 5 they do not make baldness on their head, and the corner of their beard they do not shave, and in their flesh they do not make a cutting;
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
 'They shall be holy to their God and not profane the name of their God, for they present the offerings by fire to the LORD, the food of their God; so they shall be holy.6 They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God: for the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.6 They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God; for the offerings of Jehovah made by fire, the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy.6 They shall be holy to their God, and shall not profane his name: for they offer the burnt offering of the Lord, and the bread of their God, and therefore they shall be holy. 6 they are holy to their God, and they pollute not the name of their God, for the fire-offerings of Jehovah, bread of their God, they are bringing near, and have been holy.
 'They shall not take a woman who is profaned by harlotry, nor shall they take a woman divorced from her husband; for he is holy to his God.7 They shall not take a wife that is a whore, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.7 They shall not take a woman that is a harlot, or profane; neither shall they take a woman put away from her husband: for he is holy unto his God.7 They shall not take to wife a harlot or a vile prostitute, nor one that has been put away from her husband: because they are consecrated to their God, 7 A woman, a harlot, or polluted, they do not take, and a woman cast out from her husband they do not take, for he is holy to his God;
 'You shall consecrate him, therefore, for he offers the food of your God; he shall be holy to you; for I the LORD, who sanctifies you, am holy.8 Thou shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I the LORD, which sanctify you, am holy.8 Thou shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I Jehovah, who sanctify you, am holy.8 And offer the leaves of proposition. Let them therefore be holy, because I also am holy, the Lord, who sanctify them. 8 and thou hast sanctified him, for the bread of thy God he is bringing near; he is holy to thee; for holy am I, Jehovah, sanctifying you.
 'Also the daughter of any priest, if she profanes herself by harlotry, she profanes her father; she shall be burned with fire.9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.9 And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the harlot, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.9 If the daughter of a priest be taken in whoredom, and dishonour the name of her father, she shall be burnt with fire. 9 'And a daughter of any priest when she polluteth herself by going a-whoring -- her father she is polluting; with fire she is burnt.
 'The priest who is the highest among his brothers, on whose head the anointing oil has been poured and who has been consecrated to wear the garments, shall not uncover his head nor tear his clothes;10 And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil was poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not uncover his head, nor rend his clothes;10 And he that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, shall not let the hair of his head go loose, nor rend his clothes;10 The high priest, that is to say, the priest, is the greatest among his brethren. upon whose head the oil of unction hath been poured, and whose hands have been consecrated for the priesthood, and who hath been vested with the holy vestments, shall not uncover his head, he shall not rend his garments: 10 'And the high priest of his brethren, on whose head is poured the anointing oil, and hath consecrated his hand to put on the garments, his head doth not uncover, nor rend his garments,
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
 nor shall he approach any dead person, nor defile himself even for his father or his mother;11 Neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;11 neither shall he go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother;11 Nor shall he go in at all to any dead person: not even for his father, or his mother, shall he be defiled: 11 nor beside any dead person doth he come; for his father and for his mother he doth not defile himself;
 nor shall he go out of the sanctuary nor profane the sanctuary of his God, for the consecration of the anointing oil of his God is on him; I am the LORD.12 Neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am the LORD.12 neither shall he go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his God; for the crown of the anointing oil of his God is upon him: I am Jehovah.12 Neither shall he go out of the holy places, lest he defile the sanctuary of the Lord, because the oil of the holy unction of his God is upon him. I am the Lord. 12 nor from the sanctuary doth he go out, nor doth he pollute the sanctuary of his God, for the separation of the anointing oil of his God is on him; I am Jehovah.
 'He shall take a wife in her virginity.13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.13 And he shall take a wife in her virginity.13 He shall take a virgin unto his wife: 13 'And he taketh a wife in her virginity;
 'A widow, or a divorced woman, or one who is profaned by harlotry, these he may not take; but rather he is to marry a virgin of his own people,14 A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife.14 A widow, or one divorced, or a profane woman, a harlot, these shall he not take: but a virgin of his own people shall he take to wife.14 But a widow or one that is divorced, or defiled, or a harlot, he shall not take, but a maid of his own people : 14 widow, or cast out, or polluted one -- a harlot -- these he doth not take, but a virgin of his own people he doth take for a wife,
 so that he will not profane his offspring among his people; for I am the LORD who sanctifies him.'"15 Neither shall he profane his seed among his people: for I the LORD do sanctify him.15 And he shall not profane his seed among his people: for I am Jehovah who sanctifieth him.15 He shall not mingle the stock of his kindred with the common people of his nation: for I am the Lord who sanctify him. 15 and he doth not pollute his seed among his people; for I am Jehovah, sanctifying him.'
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
 Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,16 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,16 And Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,16 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 16 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,
 "Speak to Aaron, saying, 'No man of your offspring throughout their generations who has a defect shall approach to offer the food of his God.17 Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed in their generations that hath any blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.17 Speak unto Aaron, saying, Whosoever he be of thy seed throughout their generations that hath a blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his God.17 Say to Aaron: Whosoever of thy seed throughout their families, hath a blemish, he shall not offer bread to his God. 17 'Speak unto Aaron, saying, No man of thy seed to their generations in whom there is blemish doth draw near to bring near the bread of his God,
 For no one who has a defect shall approach: a blind man, or a lame man, or he who has a disfigured face, or any deformed limb,18 For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or any thing superfluous,18 For whatsoever man he be that hath a blemish, he shall not approach: a blind man, or a lame, or he that hath a flat nose, or anything superfluous,18 Neither shall he approach to minister to him: If he be blind, if he be lame, if he have a little, or a great, or a crooked nose, 18 for no man in whom is blemish doth draw near -- a man blind, or lame or dwarfed, or enlarged,
 or a man who has a broken foot or broken hand,19 Or a man that is broken-footed, or broken-handed,19 or a man that is broken-footed, or broken-handed,19 If his foot, or if his hand be broken, 19 or a man in whom there is a breach in the foot, or a breach in the hand,
 or a hunchback or a dwarf, or one who has a defect in his eye or eczema or scabs or crushed testicles.20 Or crookbacked, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or be scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;20 or crook-backed, or a dwarf, or that hath a blemish in his eye, or is scurvy, or scabbed, or hath his stones broken;20 If he be crookbacked, or blear eyed, or have a pearl in his eye, or a continual scab, or a dry scurf in his body, or a rupture: 20 or hump-backed, or a dwarf, or with a mixture in his eye, or a scurvy person, or scabbed, or broken-testicled.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
 No man among the descendants of Aaron the priest who has a defect is to come near to offer the LORD'S offerings by fire; since he has a defect, he shall not come near to offer the food of his God.21 No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.21 no man of the seed of Aaron the priest, that hath a blemish, shall come nigh to offer the offerings of Jehovah made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh to offer the bread of his God.21 Whosoever of the seed of Aaron the priest hath a blemish, he shall not approach to offer sacrifices to the Lord, nor bread to his God. 21 No man in whom is blemish (of the seed of Aaron the priest) doth come nigh to bring near the fire-offerings of Jehovah; blemish is in him; the bread of his God he doth not come nigh to bring near.
 He may eat the food of his God, both of the most holy and of the holy,22 He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy.22 He shall eat the bread of his God, both of the most holy, and of the holy:22 He shall eat nevertheless of the loaves, that are offered in the sanctuary, 22 'Bread of his God -- of the most holy things, and of the holy things -- he doth eat;
 only he shall not go in to the veil or come near the altar because he has a defect, so that he will not profane My sanctuaries. For I am the LORD who sanctifies them.'"23 Only he shall not go in unto the vail, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I the LORD do sanctify them.23 only he shall not go in unto the veil, nor come nigh unto the altar, because he hath a blemish; that he profane not my sanctuaries: for I am Jehovah who sanctifieth them.23 Yet so that he enter not within the veil, nor approach to the altar, because he hath a blemish, and he must not defile my sanctuary. I am the Lord who sanctify them. 23 only, unto the vail he doth not enter, and unto the altar he doth not draw nigh; for blemish is in him; and he doth not pollute My sanctuaries; for I am Jehovah, sanctifying them.'
 So Moses spoke to Aaron and to his sons and to all the sons of Israel.24 And Moses told it unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel.24 So Moses spake unto Aaron, and to his sons, and unto all the children of Israel.24 Moses therefore spoke to Aaron, and to his sons and to all Israel, all the things that had been commanded him. 24 And Moses speaketh unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the sons of Israel.
