| 1 For the choir director. A Psalm of David. In the LORD I take refuge; How can you say to my soul, "Flee as a bird to your mountain; | 1 In the LORD put I my trust: how say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain? | 1 In Jehovah do I take refuge: How say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain; | 1 Unto the end. A psalm for David. In the Lord I put my trust: how then do you say to my soul: Get thee away from hence to the mountain like a sparrow? | 1 To the Overseer. -- By David. In Jehovah I trusted, how say ye to my soul, 'They moved to Thy mountain for the bird? | 2 For, behold, the wicked bend the bow, They make ready their arrow upon the string To shoot in darkness at the upright in heart. | 2 For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart. | 2 For, lo, the wicked bend the bow, They make ready their arrow upon the string, That they may shoot in darkness at the upright in heart; | 2 For, lo, the wicked have bent their bow; they have prepared their arrows in the quiver; to shoot in the dark the upright of heart. | 2 For lo, the wicked tread a bow, They have prepared their arrow on the string, To shoot in darkness at the upright in heart. | 3 If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do?" | 3 If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? | 3 If the foundations be destroyed, What can the righteous do? | 3 For they have destroyed the things which thou hast made: but what has the just man done? | 3 When the foundations are destroyed, The righteous -- what hath he done? | 4 The LORD is in His holy temple; the LORD'S throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men. | 4 The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD's throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. | 4 Jehovah is in his holy temple; Jehovah, his throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. | 4 The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord's throne is in heaven. His eyes look on the poor man: his eyelids examine the sons of men. | 4 Jehovah is in his holy temple: Jehovah -- in the heavens is His throne. His eyes see -- His eyelids try the sons of men. | 5 The LORD tests the righteous and the wicked, And the one who loves violence His soul hates. | 5 The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. | 5 Jehovah trieth the righteous; But the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth. | 5 The Lord trieth the just and the wicked: but he that loveth iniquity hateth his own soul. | 5 Jehovah the righteous doth try. And the wicked and the lover of violence, Hath His soul hated, | NASB | KJV | ASV | DRB | YLT |
| 6 Upon the wicked He will rain snares; Fire and brimstone and burning wind will be the portion of their cup. | 6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup. | 6 Upon the wicked he will rain snares; Fire and brimstone and burning wind shall be the portion of their cup. | 6 He shall rain snares upon sinners: fire and brimstone and storms of winds shall be the portion of their cup. | 6 He poureth on the wicked snares, fire, and brimstone, And a horrible wind is the portion of their cup. | 7 For the LORD is righteous, He loves righteousness; The upright will behold His face. | 7 For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright. | 7 For Jehovah is righteous; he loveth righteousness: The upright shall behold his face. | 7 For the Lord is just, and hath loved justice: his countenance hath beheld righteousness. | 7 For righteous is Jehovah, Righteousness He hath loved, The upright doth His countenance see!' |
