Cast Your Bread on the Waters
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
1 Cast your bread on the surface of the waters, for you will find it after many days.1 Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.1 Cast thy bread upon the waters; for thou shalt find it after many days.1 Cast thy bread upon the running waters: for after a long time thou shalt find it again. 1 Send forth thy bread on the face of the waters, For in the multitude of the days thou dost find it.
2 Divide your portion to seven, or even to eight, for you do not know what misfortune may occur on the earth.2 Give a portion to seven, and also to eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.2 Give a portion to seven, yea, even unto eight; for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth.2 Give a portion to seven, and also to eight: for thou knowest not what evil shall be upon the earth. 2 Give a portion to seven, and even to eight, For thou knowest not what evil is on the earth.
3 If the clouds are full, they pour out rain upon the earth; and whether a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, wherever the tree falls, there it lies.3 If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there it shall be.3 If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth; and if a tree fall toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there shall it be.3 If the clouds be full, they will pour out rain upon the earth. If the tree fall to the south, or to the north, in what place soever it shall fall, there shall it be. 3 If the thick clouds are full of rain, On the earth they empty themselves; And if a tree doth fall in the south or to the north, The place where the tree falleth, there it is.
4 He who watches the wind will not sow and he who looks at the clouds will not reap.4 He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.4 He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.4 He that observeth the wind, shall not sow: and he that considereth the clouds, shall never reap. 4 Whoso is observing the wind soweth not, And whoso is looking on the thick clouds reapeth not.
5 Just as you do not know the path of the wind and how bones are formed in the womb of the pregnant woman, so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things.5 As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.5 As thou knowest not what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child; even so thou knowest not the work of God who doeth all.5 As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones are joined together in the womb of her that is with child: so thou knowest not the works of God, who is the maker of all. 5 As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, How -- bones in the womb of the full one, So thou knowest not the work of God who maketh the whole.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
6 Sow your seed in the morning and do not be idle in the evening, for you do not know whether morning or evening sowing will succeed, or whether both of them alike will be good.6 In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.6 In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thy hand; for thou knowest not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good.6 In the morning sow thy seed, and In the evening let not thy hand cease: for thou knowest not which may rather spring up, this or that: and if both together, it shall be the better. 6 In the morning sow thy seed, And at even withdraw not thy hand, For thou knowest not which is right, this or that, Or whether both of them alike are good.
7 The light is pleasant, and it is good for the eyes to see the sun.7 Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun:7 Truly the light is sweet, and a pleasant thing it is for the eyes to behold the sun.7 The light is sweet, and it is delightful for the eyes to see the sun. 7 Sweet also is the light, And good for the eyes to see the sun.
8 Indeed, if a man should live many years, let him rejoice in them all, and let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many. Everything that is to come will be futility.8 But if a man live many years, and rejoice in them all; yet let him remember the days of darkness; for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity.8 Yea, if a man live many years, let him rejoice in them all; but let him remember the days of darkness, for they shall be many. All that cometh is vanity.8 If a man live many years, and have rejoiced in them all, he must remember the darksome time, and the many days: which when they shall come, the things past shall be accused of vanity. 8 But, if man liveth many years, In all of them let him rejoice, And remember the days of darkness, For they are many! all that is coming is vanity.
9 Rejoice, young man, during your childhood, and let your heart be pleasant during the days of young manhood. And follow the impulses of your heart and the desires of your eyes. Yet know that God will bring you to judgment for all these things.9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thine eyes; but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.9 Rejoice therefore, O young man, in thy youth, and let thy heart be in that which is good in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thy heart, and in the sight of thy eyes: and know that for all these God will bring thee into judgment. 9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy childhood, And let thy heart gladden thee in days of thy youth, And walk in the ways of thy heart, And in the sight of thine eyes, And know thou that for all these, Doth God bring thee into judgment.
10 So, remove grief and anger from your heart and put away pain from your body, because childhood and the prime of life are fleeting.10 Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.10 Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh; for youth and the dawn of life are vanity.10 Remove anger from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh. For youth and pleasure are vain. 10 And turn aside anger from thy heart, And cause evil to pass from thy flesh, For the childhood and the age are vanity!
