| 1 Moreover, the word of the LORD came to me saying, | 1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, | 1 Moreover the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, | 1 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying: | 1 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying: | 2 "Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it | 2 Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it, | 2 Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it, | 2 Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy concerning it, and say to it: | 2 'Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it, | 3 and say to it, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am against you, Mount Seir, And I will stretch out My hand against you And make you a desolation and a waste. | 3 And say unto it, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O mount Seir, I am against thee, and I will stretch out mine hand against thee, and I will make thee most desolate. | 3 and say unto it, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, O mount Seir, and I will stretch out my hand against thee, and I will make thee a desolation and an astonishment. | 3 Thus saith the Lord God: Behold I come against thee, mount Seir, and I will stretch forth my hand upon thee, and I will make thee desolate and waste. | 3 and thou hast said to it: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am against thee, O mount Seir, And have stretched out My hand against thee, And made thee a desolation and an astonishment. | 4 "I will lay waste your cities And you will become a desolation. Then you will know that I am the LORD. | 4 I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD. | 4 I will lay thy cities waste, and thou shalt be desolate; and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah. | 4 I will destroy thy cities, and thou shalt be desolate: and thou shalt know that I am the Lord. | 4 Thy cities a waste I make, and thou art a desolation, And thou hast known that I am Jehovah. | 5 "Because you have had everlasting enmity and have delivered the sons of Israel to the power of the sword at the time of their calamity, at the time of the punishment of the end, | 5 Because thou hast had a perpetual hatred, and hast shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end: | 5 Because thou hast had a perpetual enmity, and hast given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end; | 5 Because thou hast been an everlasting enemy, and hast shut up the children of Israel in the hands of the sword in the time of their affliction, in the time of their last iniquity. | 5 Because of thy having an enmity age-during, And thou dost saw the sons of Israel, By the hands of the sword, In the time of their calamity, In the time of the iniquity of the end: | NASB | KJV | ASV | DRB | YLT |
| 6 therefore as I live," declares the Lord GOD, "I will give you over to bloodshed, and bloodshed will pursue you; since you have not hated bloodshed, therefore bloodshed will pursue you. | 6 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: sith thou hast not hated blood, even blood shall pursue thee. | 6 therefore, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will prepare thee unto blood, and blood shall pursue thee: since thou hast not hated blood, therefore blood shall pursue thee. | 6 Therefore as I live, saith the Lord God, I will deliver thee up to blood, and blood shall pursue thee: and whereas thou hast hated blood, blood shall pursue thee. | 6 Therefore, I live -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, Surely for blood I do appoint thee, And blood doth pursue thee, If blood thou hast not hated, Blood also doth pursue thee. | 7 "I will make Mount Seir a waste and a desolation and I will cut off from it the one who passes through and returns. | 7 Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him that passeth out and him that returneth. | 7 Thus will I make mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation; and I will cut off from it him that passeth through and him that returneth. | 7 And I will make mount Seir waste and desolate: and I will take away from it him that goeth and him that returneth. | 7 And I have given mount Seir for a desolation and an astonishment, And have cut off from it him who is passing over and him who is returning, | 8 "I will fill its mountains with its slain; on your hills and in your valleys and in all your ravines those slain by the sword will fall. | 8 And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in all thy rivers, shall they fall that are slain with the sword. | 8 And I will fill its mountains with its slain: in thy hills and in thy valleys and in all thy watercourses shall they fall that are slain with the sword. | 8 And I will fill his mountains with his men that are slain: in thy hills, and in thy valleys, and in thy torrents they shall fall that are slain with the sword. | 8 And filled his mountains with his wounded, Thy hills, and thy valleys, and all thy streams, The pierced of the sword fall into them. | 9 "I will make you an everlasting desolation and your cities will not be inhabited. | 11 therefore as I live," declares the Lord GOD, "I will deal with you according to your anger and according to your envy which you showed because of your hatred against them; so I will make Myself known among them when I judge you. | 11 Therefore, as I live, saith the Lord GOD, I will even do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast used out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged thee. | 11 therefore, as I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, I will do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy which thou hast showed out of thy hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I shall judge thee. | 11 Therefore as I live, saith the Lord God, I will do according to thy wrath, and according to thy envy, which thou hast exercised in hatred to them: and I will be made known by them, when I shall have judged thee. | 11 Therefore, I live -- an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, And I have done according to thine anger, And according to thine envy, With which thou hast wrought, Because of thy hatred against them, And I have been known among them when I judge thee. | 12 "Then you will know that I, the LORD, have heard all your revilings which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel saying, 'They are laid desolate; they are given to us for food.' | 12 And thou shalt know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all thy blasphemies which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume. | 12 And thou shalt know that I, Jehovah, have heard all thy revilings which thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to devour. | 12 And thou shalt know that I the Lord have heard all thy reproaches, that thou hast spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying: They are desolate, they are given to us to consume. | 12 And thou hast known that I -- Jehovah, I have heard all thy despisings that thou hast spoken Against mountains of Israel, saying: A desolation, to us they were given for food. | 13 "And you have spoken arrogantly against Me and have multiplied your words against Me; I have heard it." | 13 Thus with your mouth ye have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them. | 13 And ye have magnified yourselves against me with your mouth, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard it. | 13 And you rose up against me with your mouth, and have derogated from me by your words: I have heard them. | 13 And ye magnify yourselves against Me with your mouth, And have made abundant against Me your words, I -- I have heard. | 14 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "As all the earth rejoices, I will make you a desolation. | 14 Thus saith the Lord GOD; When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate. | 14 Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When the whole earth rejoiceth, I will make thee desolate. | 14 Thus saith the Lord God: When the whole earth shall rejoice, I will make thee a wilderness. | 14 Thus said the Lord Jehovah: According to the rejoicing of the whole land, A desolation I make of thee. | 15 "As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so I will do to you. You will be a desolation, O Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the LORD."' | 15 As thou didst rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD. | 15 As thou didst rejoice over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do unto thee: thou shalt be desolate, O mount Seir, and all Edom, even all of it; and they shall know that I am Jehovah. | 15 As thou best rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was laid waste, so will I do to thee: thou shalt be laid waste, O mount Seir, and all Idumea: and they shall know that I am the Lord. | 15 According to thy joy at the inheritance of the house of Israel because of desolation, So I do to thee -- a desolation thou art, O mount Seir, and all Edom -- all of it, And they have known that I am Jehovah! |
