| 1 A Song of Ascents. When the LORD brought back the captive ones of Zion, We were like those who dream. | 1 When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. | 1 When Jehovah brought back those that returned to Zion, We were like unto them that dream. | 1 When the lord brought back the captivity of Sion, we became like men comforted. | 1 A Song of the Ascents. In Jehovah's turning back to the captivity of Zion, We have been as dreamers. | 2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter And our tongue with joyful shouting; Then they said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them." | 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. | 2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing: Then said they among the nations, Jehovah hath done great things for them. | 2 Then was our mouth filled with gladness; and our tongue with joy. Then shall they say among the Gentiles: The Lord hath done great things for them. | 2 Then filled with laughter is our mouth, And our tongue with singing, Then do they say among nations, 'Jehovah did great things with these.' | 3 The LORD has done great things for us; We are glad. | 3 The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. | 3 Jehovah hath done great things for us, Whereof we are glad. | 3 The Lord hath done great things for us: we are become joyful. | 3 Jehovah did great things with us, We have been joyful. | 4 Restore our captivity, O LORD, As the streams in the South. | 4 Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. | 4 Turn again our captivity, O Jehovah, As the streams in the South. | 4 Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as a stream in the south. | 4 Turn again, O Jehovah, to our captivity, As streams in the south. | 5 Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting. | 5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. | 5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. | 5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. | 5 Those sowing in tears, with singing do reap, | NASB | KJV | ASV | DRB | YLT |
| 6 He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed, Shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him. | 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. | 6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with joy, bringing his sheaves with him . | 6 Going they went and wept, casting their seeds. But coming they shall come with joyfulness, carrying their sheaves. | 6 Whoso goeth on and weepeth, Bearing the basket of seed, Surely cometh in with singing, bearing his sheaves! |
