| 1 For the choir director. A Psalm of David. May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high! | 1 The LORD hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee; | 1 Jehovah answer thee in the day of trouble; The name of the God of Jacob set thee up on high; | 1 Unto the end. A psalm for David. May the Lord hear thee in the day of tribulation: may the name of the God of Jacob protect thee. | 1 To the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David. Jehovah doth answer thee, In a day of adversity, The name of the God of Jacob doth set thee on high, | 2 May He send you help from the sanctuary And support you from Zion! | 2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion; | 2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, And strengthen thee out of Zion; | 2 May he send thee help from the sanctuary: and defend thee out of Sion. | 2 He doth send thy help from the sanctuary, And from Zion doth support thee, | 3 May He remember all your meal offerings And find your burnt offering acceptable! Selah. | 3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah. | 3 Remember all thy offerings, And accept thy burnt-sacrifice; Selah | 3 May he be mindful of all thy sacrifices: and may thy whole burnt offering be made fat. | 3 He doth remember all thy presents, And thy burnt-offering doth reduce to ashes. Selah. | 4 May He grant you your heart's desire And fulfill all your counsel! | 4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel. | 4 Grant thee thy heart's desire, And fulfil all thy counsel. | 4 May he give thee according to thy own heart; and confirm all thy counsels. | 4 He doth give to thee according to thy heart, And all thy counsel doth fulfil. | 5 We will sing for joy over your victory, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners. May the LORD fulfill all your petitions. | 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the LORD fulfil all thy petitions. | 5 We will triumph in thy salvation, And in the name of our God we will set up our banners: Jehovah fulfil all thy petitions. | 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation; and in the name of our God we shall be exalted. The Lord fulfil all thy petitions: now have I known that the Lord hath saved his anointed. He will hear him from his holy heaven: the salvation of his right hand is in powers. | 5 We sing of thy salvation, And in the name of our God set up a banner. O Lord, save the king: and hear us in the day that we shall call upon thee. | 8 They -- they have bowed and have fallen, And we have risen and station ourselves upright. | 9 Save, O LORD; May the King answer us in the day we call. | 9 Save, LORD: let the king hear us when we call. | 9 Save, Jehovah: Let the King answer us when we call. | 9 They are bound, and have fallen; but we are risen, and are set upright.
