| 1 A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. A Psalm of David. I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, And have not let my enemies rejoice over me. | 1 I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. | 1 I will extol thee, O Jehovah; for thou hast raised me up, And hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. | 1 A psalm of a canticle, at the dedication of David's house. I will extol thee, O Lord, for thou hast upheld me: and hast not made my enemies to rejoice over me. | 1 A Psalm. -- A song of the dedication of the house of David. I exalt Thee, O Jehovah, For Thou hast drawn me up, and hast not let mine enemies rejoice over me. | 2 O LORD my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me. | 2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. | 2 O Jehovah my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. | 2 O Lord my God, I have cried to thee, and then hast healed me. | 2 Jehovah my God, I have cried to Thee, And Thou dost heal me. | 3 O LORD, You have brought up my soul from Sheol; You have kept me alive, that I would not go down to the pit. | 3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. | 3 O Jehovah, thou hast brought up my soul from Sheol; Thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. | 3 Thou hast brought forth, O Lord, my soul from hell: thou hast saved me from them that go down into the pit. | 3 Jehovah, Thou hast brought up from Sheol my soul, Thou hast kept me alive, From going down to the pit. | 4 Sing praise to the LORD, you His godly ones, And give thanks to His holy name. | 4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. | 4 Sing praise unto Jehovah, O ye saints of his, And give thanks to his holy memorial name . | 4 Sing to the Lord, O ye his saints: and give praise to the memory of his holiness. | 4 Sing praise to Jehovah, ye His saints, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness, | 5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning. | 5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. | 5 For his anger is but for a moment; His favor is for a life-time: Weeping may tarry for the night, But joy cometh in the morning. | 5 For wrath is in his indignation; and life in his good will. In the evening weeping shall have place, and in the morning gladness. | 5 For -- a moment is in His anger, Life is in His good-will, At even remaineth weeping, and at morn singing. | NASB | KJV | ASV | DRB | YLT |
| 6 Now as for me, I said in my prosperity, "I will never be moved." | 6 And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved. | 6 As for me, I said in my prosperity, I shall never be moved. | 6 And in my abundance I said: I shall never be moved. | 6 And I -- I have said in mine ease, 'I am not moved -- to the age. | 7 O LORD, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong; You hid Your face, I was dismayed. | 7 LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. | 7 Thou, Jehovah, of thy favor hadst made my mountain to stand strong: Thou didst hide thy face; I was troubled. | 7 O Lord, in thy favour, thou gavest strength to my beauty. Thou turnedst away thy face from me, and I became troubled. | 7 O Jehovah, in Thy good pleasure, Thou hast caused strength to remain for my mountain,' Thou hast hidden Thy face -- I have been troubled. | 8 To You, O LORD, I called, And to the Lord I made supplication: | 8 I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication. | 8 I cried to thee, O Jehovah; And unto Jehovah I made supplication: | 8 To thee, O Lord, will I cry: and I will make supplication to my God. | 8 Unto Thee, O Jehovah, I call, And unto Jehovah I make supplication. | 9 "What profit is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness? | 9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? | 9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? | 9 What profit is there in my blood, whilst I go down to corruption? Shall dust confess to thee, or declare thy truth? | 9 What gain is in my blood? In my going down unto corruption? Doth dust thank Thee? doth it declare Thy truth? | 10 "Hear, O LORD, and be gracious to me; O LORD, be my helper." | 10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper. | 10 Hear, O Jehovah, and have mercy upon me: Jehovah, be thou my helper. | 10 The Lord hath heard, and hath had mercy on me: the Lord became my helper. | 10 Hear, O Jehovah, and favour me, O Jehovah, be a helper to me.' | NASB | KJV | ASV | DRB | YLT |
| 11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness, | 11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; | 11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing; Thou hast loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; | 11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into joy: thou hast cut my sackcloth, and hast compassed me with gladness: | 11 Thou hast turned my mourning to dancing for me, Thou hast loosed my sackcloth, And girdest me with joy. | 12 That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever. | 12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. | 12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Jehovah my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. | 12 To the end that my glory may sing to thee, and I may not regret: O Lord my God, I will give praise to thee for ever. | 12 So that honour doth praise Thee, and is not silent, O Jehovah, my God, to the age I thank Thee! |
