God Alone a Refuge from Treachery and Oppression. For the choir director; according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
1 For the choir director; according to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. My soul waits in silence for God only; From Him is my salvation.1 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.1 My soul waiteth in silence for God only: From him cometh my salvation.1 Unto the end, for Idithun, a psalm of David. Shall not my soul be subject to God? for from him is my salvation. 1 To the Overseer, for Jeduthun. -- A Psalm of David. Only -- toward God is my soul silent, From Him is my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be greatly shaken.2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.2 He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my high tower; I shall not be greatly moved.2 For he is my God and my saviour: he is my protector, I shall be moved no more. 2 Only -- He is my rock, and my salvation, My tower, I am not much moved.
3 How long will you assail a man, That you may murder him, all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.3 How long will ye set upon a man, That ye may slay him , all of you, Like a leaning wall, like a tottering fence?3 How long do you rush in upon a man? you all kill, as if you were thrusting down a leaning wall, and a tottering fence. 3 Till when do ye devise mischief against a man? Ye are destroyed all of you, As a wall inclined, a hedge that is cast down.
4 They have counseled only to thrust him down from his high position; They delight in falsehood; They bless with their mouth, But inwardly they curse. Selah.4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.4 They only consult to thrust him down from his dignity; They delight in lies; They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah4 But they have thought to cast away my price; I ran in thirst: they blessed with their mouth, but cursed with their heart. 4 Only -- from his excellency They have consulted to drive away, They enjoy a lie, with their mouth they bless, And with their heart revile. Selah.
5 My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him.5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.5 My soul, wait thou in silence for God only; For my expectation is from him.5 But be thou, O my soul, subject to God: for from him is my patience. 5 Only -- for God, be silent, O my soul, For from Him is my hope.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
6 He only is my rock and my salvation, My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.6 He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my high tower; I shall not be moved.6 For he is my God and my saviour: he is my helper, I shall not be moved. 6 Only -- He is my rock and my salvation, My tower, I am not moved.
7 On God my salvation and my glory rest; The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.7 With God is my salvation and my glory: The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.7 In God is my salvation and my glory: he is the God of my help, and my hope is in God. 7 On God is my salvation, and my honour, The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.
8 Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah.8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.8 Trust in him at all times, ye people; Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah8 Trust in him, all ye congregation of people: pour out your hearts before him. God is our helper for ever. 8 Trust in Him at all times, O people, Pour forth before Him your heart, God is a refuge for us. Selah.
9 Men of low degree are only vanity and men of rank are a lie; In the balances they go up; They are together lighter than breath.9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: In the balances they will go up; They are together lighter than vanity.9 But vain are the sons of men, the sons of men are liars in the balances: that by vanity they may together deceive. 9 Only -- vanity are the low, a lie the high. In balances to go up they than vanity are lighter.
10 Do not trust in oppression And do not vainly hope in robbery; If riches increase, do not set your heart upon them.10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.10 Trust not in oppression, And become not vain in robbery: If riches increase, set not your heart thereon .10 Trust not in iniquity, and cover not robberies: if riches abound, set not your heart upon them. 10 Trust not in oppression, And in robbery become not vain, Wealth -- when it increaseth -- set not the heart.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
11 Once God has spoken; Twice I have heard this: That power belongs to God;11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.11 God hath spoken once, Twice have I heard this, That power belongeth unto God.11 God hath spoken once, these two things have I heard, that power belongeth to God, 11 Once hath God spoken, twice I heard this, That 'strength is with God.'
12 And lovingkindness is Yours, O Lord, For You recompense a man according to his work.12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth lovingkindness; For thou renderest to every man according to his work. 12 and mercy to thee, O Lord; for thou wilt render to every man according to his works. 12 And with Thee, O Lord, is kindness, For Thou dost recompense to each, According to his work!
