The Use of Spiritual Gifts
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware.1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.1 Now concerning spiritual gifts , brethren, I would not have you ignorant.1 NOW concerning spiritual things, my brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 1 And concerning the spiritual things, brethren, I do not wish you to be ignorant;
2 You know that when you were pagans, you were led astray to the mute idols, however you were led.2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led.2 Ye know that when ye were Gentiles ye were led away unto those dumb idols, howsoever ye might led.2 You know that when you were heathens, you went to dumb idols, according as you were led. 2 ye have known that ye were nations, unto the dumb idols -- as ye were led -- being carried away;
3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says, "Jesus is accursed"; and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by the Holy Spirit.3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.3 Wherefore I make known unto you, that no man speaking in the Spirit of God saith, Jesus is anathema; and no man can say, Jesus is Lord, but in the Holy Spirit.3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man, speaking by the Spirit of God, saith Anathema to Jesus. And no man can say the Lord Jesus, but by the Holy Ghost. 3 wherefore, I give you to understand that no one, in the Spirit of God speaking, saith Jesus is anathema, and no one is able to say Jesus is Lord, except in the Holy Spirit.
4 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit.4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.4 Now there are diversities of graces, but the same Spirit; 4 And there are diversities of gifts, and the same Spirit;
5 And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord.5 And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.5 And there are diversities of ministrations, and the same Lord.5 And there are diversities of ministries, but the same Lord; 5 and there are diversities of ministrations, and the same Lord;
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
6 There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.6 And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.6 And there are diversities of workings, but the same God, who worketh all things in all.6 And there are diversities of operations, but the same God, who worketh all in all. 6 and there are diversities of workings, and it is the same God -- who is working the all in all.
7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit to profit withal.7 And the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man unto profit. 7 And to each hath been given the manifestation of the Spirit for profit;
8 For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit;8 For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;8 For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom; and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit:8 To one indeed, by the Spirit, is given the word of wisdom: and to another, the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit; 8 for to one through the Spirit hath been given a word of wisdom, and to another a word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,9 To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;9 to another faith, in the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, in the one Spirit;9 To another, faith in the same spirit; to another, the grace of healing in one Spirit; 9 and to another faith in the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healings in the same Spirit;
10 and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.10 To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:10 and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discernings of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; and to another the interpretation of tongues:10 To another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, the discerning of spirits; to another, diverse kinds of tongues; to another, interpretation of speeches. 10 and to another in-workings of mighty deeds; and to another prophecy; and to another discernings of spirits; and to another divers kinds of tongues; and to another interpretation of tongues:
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as He wills.11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.11 but all these worketh the one and the same Spirit, dividing to each one severally even as he will.11 But all these things one and the same Spirit worketh, dividing to every one according as he will. 11 and all these doth work the one and the same Spirit, dividing to each severally as he intendeth.
12 For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.12 For as the body is one, and hath many members; and all the members of the body, whereas they are many, yet are one body, so also is Christ. 12 For, even as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the one body, being many, are one body, so also is the Christ,
13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit.13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.13 For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink of one Spirit.13 For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether bond or free; and in one Spirit we have all been made to drink. 13 for also in one Spirit we all to one body were baptized, whether Jews or Greeks, whether servants or freemen, and all into one Spirit were made to drink,
14 For the body is not one member, but many.14 For the body is not one member, but many.14 For the body is not one member, but many.14 For the body also is not one member, but many. 14 for also the body is not one member, but many;
15 If the foot says, "Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; it is not therefore not of the body.15 If the foot should say, because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body ? 15 if the foot may say, 'Because I am not a hand, I am not of the body;' it is not, because of this, not of the body;
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
16 And if the ear says, "Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body," it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body.16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; it is not therefore not of the body.16 And if the ear should say, because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body ? 16 and if the ear may say, 'Because I am not an eye, I am not of the body;' it is not, because of this, not of the body?
17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be?17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?17 If the whole body were the eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where would be the smelling? 17 If the whole body were an eye, where the hearing? if the whole hearing, where the smelling?
18 But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired.18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.18 But now hath God set the members each one of them in the body, even as it pleased him.18 But now God hath set the members every one of them in the body as it hath pleased him. 18 and now, God did set the members each one of them in the body, according as He willed,
19 If they were all one member, where would the body be?19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?19 And if they all were one member, where would be the body? 19 and if all were one member, where the body?
20 But now there are many members, but one body.20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.20 But now they are many members, but one body.20 But now there are many members indeed, yet one body. 20 and now, indeed, are many members, and one body;
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you"; or again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, I have no need of thee: or again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.21 And the eye cannot say to the hand: I need not thy help; nor again the head to the feet: I have no need of you. 21 and an eye is not able to say to the hand, 'I have no need of thee;' nor again the head to the feet, 'I have no need of you.'
22 On the contrary, it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary;22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:22 Nay, much rather, those members of the body which seem to be more feeble are necessary:22 Yea, much more those that seem to be the more feeble members of the body, are more necessary. 22 But much more the members of the body which seem to be more infirm are necessary,
23 and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor, and our less presentable members become much more presentable,23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.23 and those parts of the body, which we think to be less honorable, upon these we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness;23 And such as we think to be the less honourable members of the body, about these we put more abundant honour; and those that are our uncomely parts, have more abundant comeliness. 23 and those that we think to be less honourable of the body, around these we put more abundant honour, and our unseemly things have seemliness more abundant,
24 whereas our more presentable members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked,24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked.24 whereas our comely parts have no need: but God tempered the body together, giving more abundant honor to that part which lacked;24 But our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, giving to that which wanted the more abundant honour, 24 and our seemly things have no need; but God did temper the body together, to the lacking part having given more abundant honour,
25 so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.25 that there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.25 That there might be no schism in the body; but the members might be mutually careful one for another. 25 that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same anxiety for one another,
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.26 And whether one member suffereth, all the members suffer with it; or one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.26 And if one member suffer any thing, all the members suffer with it; or if one member glory, all the members rejoice with it. 26 and whether one member doth suffer, suffer with it do all the members, or one member is glorified, rejoice with it do all the members;
27 Now you are Christ's body, and individually members of it.27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and severally members thereof.27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members of member. 27 and ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
28 And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues.28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, divers kinds of tongues.28 And God indeed hath set some in the church; first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly doctors; after that miracles; then the graces of healing, helps, governments, kinds of tongues, interpretations of speeches. 28 And some, indeed, did God set in the assembly, first apostles, secondly prophets, thirdly teachers, afterwards powers, afterwards gifts of healings, helpings, governings, divers kinds of tongues;
29 All are not apostles, are they? All are not prophets, are they? All are not teachers, are they? All are not workers of miracles, are they?29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?29 Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all doctors? 29 are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all powers?
30 All do not have gifts of healings, do they? All do not speak with tongues, do they? All do not interpret, do they?30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?30 have all gifts of healings? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?30 Are all workers of miracles? Have all the grace of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 30 have all gifts of healings? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
31 But earnestly desire the greater gifts. And I show you a still more excellent way.31 But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.31 But desire earnestly the greater gifts. And moreover a most excellent way show I unto you.31 But be zealous for the better gifts. And I shew unto you yet a more excellent way. 31 and desire earnestly the better gifts; and yet a far excelling way do I shew to you:
