1 The king's heart is like channels of water in the hand of the LORD; He turns it wherever He wishes.1 The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.1 The king's heart is in the hand of Jehovah as the watercourses: He turneth it whithersoever he will.1 As the divisions of waters, so the heart of the king is in the hand of the Lord: whithersoever he will he shall turn it. 1 Rivulets of waters is the heart of a king in the hand of Jehovah, Wherever He pleaseth He inclineth it.
2 Every man's way is right in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the hearts.2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes; But Jehovah weigheth the hearts.2 Every way of a man seemeth right to himself: but the Lord weigheth the hearts. 2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, And Jehovah is pondering hearts.
3 To do righteousness and justice Is desired by the LORD more than sacrifice.3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.3 To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to Jehovah than sacrifice.3 To do mercy and judgment, pleaseth the Lord more than victims. 3 To do righteousness and judgment, Is chosen of Jehovah rather than sacrifice.
4 Haughty eyes and a proud heart, The lamp of the wicked, is sin.4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.4 A high look, and a proud heart, Even the lamp of the wicked, is sin.4 Haughtiness of the eyes is the enlarging of the heart: the lamp of the wicked is sin. 4 Loftiness of eyes, and breadth of heart, Tillage of the wicked is sin.
5 The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, But everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty.5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; But every one that is hasty hasteth only to want.5 The thoughts of the industrious al- ways bring forth abundance: but every sluggard is always in want. 5 The purposes of the diligent are only to advantage, And of every hasty one, only to want.

6 The acquisition of treasures by a lying tongue Is a fleeting vapor, the pursuit of death.6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue Is a vapor driven to and fro by them that seek death.6 He that gathereth treasures by a lying tongue, is vain and foolish, and shall stumble upon the snares of death. 6 The making of treasures by a lying tongue, Is a vanity driven away of those seeking death.
7 The violence of the wicked will drag them away, Because they refuse to act with justice.7 The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.7 The violence of the wicked shall sweep them away, Because they refuse to do justice.7 The robberies of the wicked shall be their downfall, because they would not do judgment. 7 The spoil of the wicked catcheth them, Because they have refused to do judgment.
8 The way of a guilty man is crooked, But as for the pure, his conduct is upright.8 The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.8 The way of him that is laden with guilt is exceeding crooked; But as for the pure, his work is right.8 The perverse way of a man is strange: but as for him that is pure, his work is right. 8 Froward is the way of a man who is vile, And the pure -- upright is his work.
9 It is better to live in a corner of a roof Than in a house shared with a contentious woman.9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.9 It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, Than with a contentious woman in a wide house.9 It is better to sit in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling women, and in a common house. 9 Better to sit on a corner of the roof, Than with a woman of contentions and a house of company.
10 The soul of the wicked desires evil; His neighbor finds no favor in his eyes.10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil: His neighbor findeth no favor in his eyes.10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil, he will not have pity on his neighbour. 10 The soul of the wicked hath desired evil, Not gracious in his eyes is his neighbour.

13 He who shuts his ear to the cry of the poor Will also cry himself and not be answered.13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, He also shall cry, but shall not be heard.13 He that stoppeth his ear against the cry of the poor, shall also cry himself and shall not be heard. 13 Whoso is shutting his ear from the cry of the poor, He also doth cry, and is not answered.
14 A gift in secret subdues anger, And a bribe in the bosom, strong wrath.14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger; And a present in the bosom, strong wrath.14 A secret present quencheth anger: and a gift in the bosom the greatest wrath. 14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger, And a bribe in the bosom strong fury.
15 The exercise of justice is joy for the righteous, But is terror to the workers of iniquity.15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.15 It is joy to the righteous to do justice; But it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: and dread to them that work iniquity. 15 To do justice is joy to the righteous, But ruin to workers of iniquity.

18 The wicked is a ransom for the righteous, And the treacherous is in the place of the upright.18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.18 The wicked is a ransom for the righteous; And the treacherous cometh in the stead of the upright.18 The wicked is delivered up for the just: and the unjust for the righteous. 18 The wicked is an atonement for the righteous, And for the upright the treacherous dealer.

24 "Proud," "Haughty," "Scoffer," are his names, Who acts with insolent pride.24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.24 The proud and haughty man, scoffer is his name; He worketh in the arrogance of pride.24 The proud and the arrogant is called ignorant, who in anger worketh pride. 24 Proud, haughty, scorner is his name, Who is working in the wrath of pride.
25 The desire of the sluggard puts him to death, For his hands refuse to work;25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.25 The desire of the sluggard killeth him; For his hands refuse to labor.25 Desires kill the slothful: for his hands have refused to work at all. 25 The desire of the slothful slayeth him, For his hands have refused to work.

30 There is no wisdom and no understanding And no counsel against the LORD.30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.30 There is no wisdom nor understanding Nor counsel against Jehovah.30 There is no wisdom, there is no prudence, there is no counsel against the Lord. 30 There is no wisdom, nor understanding, Nor counsel, over-against Jehovah.
