NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
My son, if you have become surety for your neighbor, Have given a pledge for a stranger,1 My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger,1 My son, if thou art become surety for thy neighbor, If thou hast stricken thy hands for a stranger;1 My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, thou hast engaged fast thy hand to a stranger. 1 My son! if thou hast been surety for thy friend, Hast stricken for a stranger thy hand,
If you have been snared with the words of your mouth, Have been caught with the words of your mouth,2 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.2 Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, Thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.2 Thou art ensnared with the words of thy mouth, and caught with thy own words. 2 Hast been snared with sayings of thy mouth, Hast been captured with sayings of thy mouth,
Do this then, my son, and deliver yourself; Since you have come into the hand of your neighbor, Go, humble yourself, and importune your neighbor.3 Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend.3 Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, Seeing thou art come into the hand of thy neighbor: Go, humble thyself, and importune thy neighbor;3 Do therefore, my son, what I say, and deliver thyself: because thou art fallen into the hand of thy neighbour. Run about, make haste, stir up thy friend: 3 Do this now, my son, and be delivered, For thou hast come into the hand of thy friend. Go, trample on thyself, and strengthen thy friend,
Give no sleep to your eyes, Nor slumber to your eyelids;4 Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.4 Give not sleep to thine eyes, Nor slumber to thine eyelids;4 Give not sleep to thy eyes, neither let thy eyelids slumber. 4 Give not sleep to thine eyes, And slumber to thine eyelids,
Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hunter's hand And like a bird from the hand of the fowler.5 Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler.5 Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter , And as a bird from the hand of the fowler.5 Deliver thyself as a doe from the hand, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler. 5 Be delivered as a roe from the hand, And as a bird from the hand of a fowler.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
 Go to the ant, O sluggard, Observe her ways and be wise,6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; Consider her ways, and be wise:6 Go to the ant, O sluggard, and consider her ways, and learn wisdom: 6 Go unto the ant, O slothful one, See her ways and be wise;
Which, having no chief, Officer or ruler,7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,7 Which having no chief, Overseer, or ruler,7 Which, although she hath no guide, nor master, nor captain, 7 Which hath not captain, overseer, and ruler,
Prepares her food in the summer And gathers her provision in the harvest.8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.8 Provideth her bread in the summer, And gathereth her food in the harvest.8 Provideth her meat for herself in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. 8 She doth prepare in summer her bread, She hath gathered in harvest her food.
How long will you lie down, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep?9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou rise out of thy sleep? 9 Till when, O slothful one, dost thou lie? When dost thou arise from thy sleep?
"A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest "--10 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:10 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep:10 Thou wilt sleep a little, thou wilt slumber a little, thou wilt fold thy hands a little to sleep: 10 A little sleep, a little slumber, A little clasping of the hands to rest,
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
Your poverty will come in like a vagabond And your need like an armed man.11 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.11 So shall thy poverty come as a robber, And thy want as an armed man.11 And want shall come upon thee, as a traveller, and poverty as a man armed. But if thou be diligent, thy harvest shall come as a fountain, and want shall flee far from thee. 11 And thy poverty hath come as a traveller, And thy want as an armed man.
A worthless person, a wicked man, Is the one who walks with a perverse mouth,12 A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.12 A worthless person, a man of iniquity, Is he that walketh with a perverse mouth;12 A man that is an apostate, an unprofitable man, walketh with a perverse mouth, 12 A man of worthlessness, a man of iniquity, Walking with perverseness of mouth,
Who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet, Who points with his fingers;13 He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers;13 That winketh with his eyes, that speaketh with his feet, That maketh signs with his fingers;13 He winketh with the eyes, presseth with the foot, speaketh with the finger. 13 Winking with his eyes, speaking with his feet, Directing with his fingers,
Who with perversity in his heart continually devises evil, Who spreads strife.14 Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.14 In whose heart is perverseness, Who deviseth evil continually, Who soweth discord.14 With a wicked heart he deviseth evil, and at all times he soweth discord. 14 Frowardness is in his heart, devising evil at all times, Contentions he sendeth forth.
Therefore his calamity will come suddenly; Instantly he will be broken and there will be no healing.15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; On a sudden shall he be broken, and that without remedy.15 To such a one his destruction shall presently come, and he shall suddenly be destroyed, and shall no longer have any remedy. 15 Therefore suddenly cometh his calamity, Instantly he is broken -- and no healing.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
There are six things which the LORD hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:16 There are six things which Jehovah hateth; Yea, seven which are an abomination unto him:16 Six things there are, which the Lord hateth, and the seventh his soul detesteth: 16 These six hath Jehovah hated, Yea, seven are abominations to His soul.
Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood,17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood;17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 17 Eyes high -- tongues false -- And hands shedding innocent blood --
A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil,18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,18 A heart that deviseth wicked purposes, Feet that are swift in running to mischief,18 A heart that deviseth wicked plots, feet that are swift to run into mischief, 18 A heart devising thoughts of vanity -- Feet hasting to run to evil --
A false witness who utters lies, And one who spreads strife among brothers.19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.19 A false witness that uttereth lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren.19 A deceitful witness that uttereth lies, and him that soweth discord among brethren. 19 A false witness who doth breathe out lies -- And one sending forth contentions between brethren.
My son, observe the commandment of your father And do not forsake the teaching of your mother;20 My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:20 My son, keep the commandment of thy father, And forsake not the law of thy mother:20 My son, beep the commandments of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother. 20 Keep, my son, the command of thy father, And leave not the law of thy mother.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
Bind them continually on your heart; Tie them around your neck.21 Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck.21 Bind them continually upon thy heart; Tie them about thy neck.21 Bind them in thy heart continually, and put them about thy neck. 21 Bind them on thy heart continually, Tie them on thy neck.
When you walk about, they will guide you; When you sleep, they will watch over you; And when you awake, they will talk to you.22 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.22 When thou walkest, it shall lead thee; When thou sleepest, it shall watch over thee; And when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.22 When thou walkest, let them go with thee: when thou sleepest, let them keep thee; and when thou awakest, talk with them. 22 In thy going up and down, it leadeth thee, In thy lying down, it watcheth over thee, And thou hast awaked -- it talketh with thee.
For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light; And reproofs for discipline are the way of life23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; And reproofs of instruction are the way of life:23 Because the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light, and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: 23 For a lamp is the command, And the law a light, And a way of life are reproofs of instruction,
To keep you from the evil woman, From the smooth tongue of the adulteress.24 To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.24 To keep thee from the evil woman, From the flattery of the foreigner's tongue.24 That they may keep thee from the evil woman, and from the flattering tongue of the stranger. 24 To preserve thee from an evil woman, From the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.
Do not desire her beauty in your heart, Nor let her capture you with her eyelids.25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.25 Lust not after her beauty in thy heart; Neither let her take thee with her eyelids.25 Let not thy heart covet her beauty, be not caught with her winks: 25 Desire not her beauty in thy heart, And let her not take thee with her eyelids.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
For on account of a harlot one is reduced to a loaf of bread, And an adulteress hunts for the precious life.26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adultress will hunt for the precious life.26 For on account of a harlot a man is brought to a piece of bread; And the adulteress hunteth for the precious life.26 For the price of a harlot is scarce one loaf: but the woman catcheth the precious soul of a man. 26 For a harlot consumeth unto a cake of bread, And an adulteress the precious soul hunteth.
Can a man take fire in his bosom And his clothes not be burned?27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, And his clothes not be burned?27 Can a man hide fire in his bosom, and his garments not burn? 27 Doth a man take fire into his bosom, And are his garments not burnt?
Or can a man walk on hot coals And his feet not be scorched?28 Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?28 Or can one walk upon hot coals, And his feet not be scorched?28 Or can he walk upon hot coals, and his feet not be burnt? 28 Doth a man walk on the hot coals, And are his feet not scorched?
So is the one who goes in to his neighbor's wife; Whoever touches her will not go unpunished.29 So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent.29 So he that goeth in to his neighbor's wife; Whosoever toucheth her shall not be unpunished.29 So he that goeth in to his neighbour's wife, shall not be clean when he shall touch her. 29 So is he who hath gone in unto the wife of his neighbour, None who doth touch her is innocent.
Men do not despise a thief if he steals To satisfy himself when he is hungry;30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry;30 Men do not despise a thief, if he steal To satisfy himself when he is hungry:30 The fault is not so great when a man hath stolen: for he stealeth to fill his hungry soul: 30 They do not despise the thief, When he stealeth to fill his soul when he is hungry,
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
But when he is found, he must repay sevenfold; He must give all the substance of his house.31 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; he shall give all the substance of his house.31 But if he be found, he shall restore sevenfold; He shall give all the substance of his house.31 And if he be taken he shall restore sevenfold, and shall give up all the substance of his house. 31 And being found he repayeth sevenfold, All the substance of his house he giveth.
The one who commits adultery with a woman is lacking sense; He who would destroy himself does it.32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.32 He that committeth adultery with a woman is void of understanding: He doeth it who would destroy his own soul.32 But he that is an adulterer, for the folly of his heart shall destroy his own soul: 32 He who committeth adultery with a woman lacketh heart, He is destroying his soul who doth it.
Wounds and disgrace he will find, And his reproach will not be blotted out.33 A wound and dishonour shall he get; and his reproach shall not be wiped away.33 Wounds and dishonor shall he get; And his reproach shall not be wiped away.33 He gathereth to himself shame and dishonour, and his reproach shall not be blotted out: 33 A stroke and shame he doth find, And his reproach is not wiped away,
For jealousy enrages a man, And he will not spare in the day of vengeance.34 For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore he will not spare in the day of vengeance.34 For jealousy is the rage of a man; And he will not spare in the day of vengeance.34 Because the jealousy and rage of the husband will not spare in the day of revenge, 34 For jealousy is the fury of a man, And he doth not spare in a day of vengeance.
He will not accept any ransom, Nor will he be satisfied though you give many gifts.35 He will not regard any ransom; neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.35 He will not regard any ransom; Neither will he rest content, though thou givest many gifts.35 Nor will he yield to any man's prayers, nor will he accept for satisfaction ever so many gifts. 35 He accepteth not the appearance of any atonement, Yea, he doth not consent, Though thou dost multiply bribes!
