Have mercy on me, O God, according to thy great mercy. And according to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my iniquity. | 1 To the Overseer. -- A Psalm of David, in the coming in unto him of Nathan the prophet, when he hath gone in unto Bath-Sheba. Favour me, O God, according to Thy kindness, According to the abundance of Thy mercies, Blot out my transgressions. | 2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity And cleanse me from my sin. | 2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. | 2 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin. | 2 Wash me yet more from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. | 2 Thoroughly wash me from mine iniquity, And from my sin cleanse me, | 3 For I know my transgressions, And my sin is ever before me. | 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. | 3 For I know my transgressions; And my sin is ever before me. | 3 For I know my iniquity, and my sin is always before me. | 3 For my transgressions I do know, And my sin is before me continually. | 4 Against You, You only, I have sinned And done what is evil in Your sight, So that You are justified when You speak And blameless when You judge. | 4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. | 4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, And done that which is evil in thy sight; That thou mayest be justified when thou speakest, And be clear when thou judgest. | 4 To thee only have I sinned, and have done evil before thee: that thou mayst be justified in thy words and mayst overcome when thou art judged. | 4 Against Thee, Thee only, I have sinned, And done the evil thing in Thine eyes, So that Thou art righteous in Thy words, Thou art pure in Thy judging. | 5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. | 5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. | 5 Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me. | 5 For behold I was conceived in iniquities; and in sins did my mother conceive me. | 5 Lo, in iniquity I have been brought forth, And in sin doth my mother conceive me. | NASB | KJV | ASV | DRB | YLT |
| 6 Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom. | 6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. | 6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts; And in the hidden part thou wilt make me to know wisdom. | 6 For behold thou hast loved truth: the uncertain and hidden things of thy wisdom thou hast made manifest to me. | 6 Lo, truth Thou hast desired in the inward parts, And in the hidden part Wisdom Thou causest me to know. | 7 Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. | 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. | 7 Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. | 7 Thou shalt sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed: thou shalt wash me, and I shall be made whiter than snow. | 7 Thou cleansest me with hyssop and I am clean, Washest me, and than snow I am whiter. | 8 Make me to hear joy and gladness, Let the bones which You have broken rejoice. | 8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. | 8 Make me to hear joy and gladness, That the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. | 8 To my hearing thou shalt give joy and gladness: and the bones that have been humbled shall rejoice. | 8 Thou causest me to hear joy and gladness, Thou makest joyful bones Thou hast bruised. | 9 Hide Your face from my sins And blot out all my iniquities. | 9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. | 9 Hide thy face from my sins, And blot out all mine iniquities. | 9 Turn away thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities. | 9 Hide Thy face from my sin. And all mine iniquities blot out. | 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. | 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. | 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me. | 10 Create a clean heart in me, O God: and renew a right spirit within my bowels. | 10 A clean heart prepare for me, O God, And a right spirit renew within me. | NASB | KJV | ASV | DRB | YLT |

| 16 For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You are not pleased with burnt offering. | 16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. | 16 For thou delightest not in sacrifice; else would I give it: Thou hast no pleasure in burnt-offering. | 16 For if thou hadst desired sacrifice, I would indeed have given it: with burnt offerings thou wilt not be delighted. | 16 For Thou desirest not sacrifice, or I give it, Burnt-offering Thou acceptest not. | 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise. | 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. | 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. | 17 A sacrifice to God is an afflicted spirit: a contrite and humbled heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. | 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A heart broken and bruised, O God, Thou dost not despise. | 18 By Your favor do good to Zion; Build the walls of Jerusalem. | 18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem. | 18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: Build thou the walls of Jerusalem. | 18 Deal favourably, O Lord, in thy good will with Sion; that the walls of Jerusalem may be built up. | 18 Do good in Thy good pleasure with Zion, Thou dost build the walls of Jerusalem. | 19 Then You will delight in righteous sacrifices, In burnt offering and whole burnt offering; Then young bulls will be offered on Your altar. | 19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar. | 19 Then will thou delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, In burnt-offering and in whole burnt-offering: Then will they offer bullocks upon thine altar. | 19 Then shalt thou accept the sacrifice of justice, oblations and whole burnt offerings: then shall they lay calves upon thy altar. | 19 Then Thou desirest sacrifices of righteousness, Burnt-offering, and whole burnt-offering, Then they offer bullocks on thine altar! |
