| 1 A Psalm, a Song for the Sabbath day. It is good to give thanks to the LORD And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; | 1 IT IS A GOOD THING TO GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD, AND TO SING PRAISES UNTO THY NAME, O MOST HIGH: | 1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto Jehovah, And to sing praises unto thy name, O Most High; | 1 A psalm of a canticle on the sabbath day. It is good to give praise to the Lord: and to sing to thy name, O most High. | 1 A Psalm. -- A Song for the sabbath-day. Good to give thanks to Jehovah, And to sing praises to Thy name, O Most High, | 2 To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning And Your faithfulness by night, | 2 To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, | 2 To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, And thy faithfulness every night, | 2 To shew forth thy mercy in the morning, and thy truth in the night: | 2 To declare in the morning Thy kindness, And Thy faithfulness in the nights. | 3 With the ten-stringed lute and with the harp, With resounding music upon the lyre. | 3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound. | 3 With an instrument of ten strings, and with the psaltery; With a solemn sound upon the harp. | 3 Upon an instrument of ten strings, upon the psaltery: with a canticle upon the harp. | 3 On ten strings and on psaltery, On higgaion, with harp. | 4 For You, O LORD, have made me glad by what You have done, I will sing for joy at the works of Your hands. | 4 For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. | 4 For thou, Jehovah, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands. | 4 For thou hast given me, O Lord, a delight in thy doings: and in the works of thy hands I shall rejoice. | 4 For Thou hast caused me to rejoice, O Jehovah, in Thy work, Concerning the works of Thy hands I sing. | 5 How great are Your works, O LORD! Your thoughts are very deep. | 5 O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep. | 5 How great are thy works, O Jehovah! | 6 A senseless man has no knowledge, Nor does a stupid man understand this: | 6 A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this. | 6 A brutish man knoweth not; Neither doth a fool understand this: | 6 The senseless man shall not know: nor will the fool understand these things. | 6 A brutish man doth not know, And a fool understandeth not this; -- | 7 That when the wicked sprouted up like grass And all who did iniquity flourished, It was only that they might be destroyed forevermore. | 7 When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever: | 7 When the wicked spring as the grass, And when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; It is that they shall be destroyed for ever. | 7 When the wicked shall spring up as grass: and all the workers of iniquity shall appear: That they may perish for ever and ever: | 7 When the wicked flourish as a herb, And blossom do all workers of iniquity -- For their being destroyed for ever and ever! | 8 But You, O LORD, are on high forever. | 8 But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore. | 8 But thou, O Jehovah, art on high for evermore. | 8 but thou, O Lord, art most high for evermore. | 8 And Thou art high to the age, O Jehovah. | 9 For, behold, Your enemies, O LORD, For, behold, Your enemies will perish; All who do iniquity will be scattered. | 9 For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. | 9 For, lo, thine enemies, O Jehovah, For, lo, thine enemies shall perish; All the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. | 9 For behold thy enemies, O Lord, for behold thy enemies shall perish: and all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. | 9 For, lo, Thine enemies, O Jehovah, For, lo, Thine enemies, do perish, Separate themselves do all workers of iniquity. | 10 But You have exalted my horn like that of the wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil. | 10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. | 10 But my horn hast thou exalted like the horn of the wild-ox: I am anointed with fresh oil. | 10 But my horn shall be exalted like that of the unicorn: and my old age in plentiful mercy. | 10 And Thou exaltest as a reem my horn, I have been anointed with fresh oil. | NASB | KJV | ASV | DRB | YLT |
| 11 And my eye has looked exultantly upon my foes, My ears hear of the evildoers who rise up against me. | 11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me. | 11 Mine eye also hath seen my desire on mine enemies, Mine ears have heard my desire of the evil-doers that rise up against me. | 11 My eye also hath looked down upon my enemies: and my ear shall hear of the downfall of the malignant that rise up against me. | 11 And mine eye looketh on mine enemies, Of those rising up against me, The evil doers, do mine ears hear. | 12 The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree, He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon. | 12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. | 12 The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree: He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. | 12 The just shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow up like the cedar of Libanus. | 12 The righteous as a palm-tree flourisheth, As a cedar in Lebanon he groweth. | 13 Planted in the house of the LORD, They will flourish in the courts of our God. | 13 Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God. | 13 They are planted in the house of Jehovah; They shall flourish in the courts of our God. | 13 They that are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of the house of our God. | 13 Those planted in the house of Jehovah, In the courts of our God do flourish. | 14 They will still yield fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and very green, | 14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; | 14 They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and green: | 14 They shall still increase in a fruitful old age: and shall be well treated, | 14 Still they bring forth in old age, Fat and flourishing are they, | 15 To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him. | 15 To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. | 15 To show that Jehovah is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him. | 15 that they may shew, That the Lord our God is righteous, and there is no iniquity in him. | 15 To declare that upright is Jehovah my rock, And there is no perverseness in Him! |
