Principles of Conscience
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
1 Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions.1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.1 But him that is weak in faith receive ye, yet not for decision of scruples.1 NOW him that is weak in faith, take unto you: not in disputes about thoughts. 1 And him who is weak in the faith receive ye -- not to determinations of reasonings;
2 One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only.2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.2 One man hath faith to eat all things: but he that is weak eateth herbs.2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: but he that is weak, let him eat herbs. 2 one doth believe that he may eat all things -- and he who is weak doth eat herbs;
3 The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him.3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.3 Let not him that eateth set at nought him that eateth not; and let not him that eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.3 Let not him that eateth, despise him that eateth not: and he that eateth not, let him not judge him that eateth. For God hath taken him to him. 3 let not him who is eating despise him who is not eating: and let not him who is not eating judge him who is eating, for God did receive him.
4 Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.4 Who art thou that judgest the servant of another? to his own lord he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be made to stand; for the Lord hath power to make him stand.4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? To his own lord he standeth or falleth. And he shall stand: for God is able to make him stand. 4 Thou -- who art thou that art judging another's domestic? to his own master he doth stand or fall; and he shall be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.
5 One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike . Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.5 For one judgeth between day and day: and another judgeth every day: let every man abound in his own sense. 5 One doth judge one day above another, and another doth judge every day alike; let each in his own mind be fully assured.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
6 He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God.6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord: and he that eateth, eateth unto the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, unto the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord. And he that eateth, eateth to the Lord: for he giveth thanks to God. And he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth thanks to God. 6 He who is regarding the day, to the Lord he doth regard it, and he who is not regarding the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He who is eating, to the Lord he doth eat, for he doth give thanks to God; and he who is not eating, to the Lord he doth not eat, and doth give thanks to God.
7 For not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself;7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.7 For none of us liveth to himself, and none dieth to himself.7 For none of us liveth to himself; and no man dieth to himself. 7 For none of us to himself doth live, and none to himself doth die;
8 for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord's.8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; or whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; or whether we die, we die unto the Lord. Therefore, whether we live, or whether we die, we are the Lord's. 8 for both, if we may live, to the Lord we live; if also we may die, to the Lord we die; both then if we may live, also if we may die, we are the Lord's;
9 For to this end Christ died and lived again, that He might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.9 For to this end Christ died and lived again , that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.9 For to this end Christ died and rose again; that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. 9 for because of this Christ both died and rose again, and lived again, that both of dead and of living he may be Lord.
10 But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.10 But thou, why dost thou judge thy brother? or thou again, why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment-seat of God.10 But thou, why judgest thou thy brother? or thou, why dost thou despise thy brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 10 And thou, why dost thou judge thy brother? or again, thou, why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand at the tribunal of the Christ;
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
11 For it is written, "AS I LIVE, SAYS THE LORD, EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO ME, AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL GIVE PRAISE TO GOD."11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, to me every knee shall bow, And every tongue shall confess to God.11 For it is written: As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 11 for it hath been written, 'I live! saith the Lord -- to Me bow shall every knee, and every tongue shall confess to God;'
12 So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God.12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.12 So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.12 Therefore every one of us shall render account to God for himself. 12 so, then, each of us concerning himself shall give reckoning to God;
13 Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this-- not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother's way.13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge ye this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock in his brother's way, or an occasion of falling.13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more. But judge this rather, that you put not a stumblingblock or a scandal in your brother's way. 13 no longer, therefore, may we judge one another, but this judge ye rather, not to put a stumbling-stone before the brother, or an offence.
14 I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but to him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.14 I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself: save that to him who accounteth anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.14 I know, and am confident in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself; but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 14 I have known, and am persuaded, in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself, except to him who is reckoning anything to be unclean -- to that one it is unclean;
15 For if because of food your brother is hurt, you are no longer walking according to love. Do not destroy with your food him for whom Christ died.15 But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.15 For if because of meat thy brother is grieved, thou walkest no longer in love. Destroy not with thy meat him for whom Christ died.15 For if, because of thy meat, thy brother be grieved, thou walkest not now according to charity. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. 15 and if through victuals thy brother is grieved, no more dost thou walk according to love; do not with thy victuals destroy that one for whom Christ died.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
16 Therefore do not let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil;16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of:16 Let not then our good be evil spoken of. 16 Let not, then, your good be evil spoken of,
17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.17 for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but justice, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 17 for the reign of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit;
18 For he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men.18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.18 For he that herein serveth Christ is well-pleasing to God, and approved of men.18 For he that in this serveth Christ, pleaseth God, and is approved of men. 18 for he who in these things is serving the Christ, is acceptable to God and approved of men.
19 So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.19 So then let us follow after things which make for peace, and things whereby we may edify one another.19 Therefore let us follow after the things that are of peace; and keep the things that are of edification one towards another. 19 So, then, the things of peace may we pursue, and the things of building up one another;
20 Do not tear down the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are clean, but they are evil for the man who eats and gives offense.20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.20 Overthrow not for meat's sake the work of God. All things indeed are clean; howbeit it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.20 Destroy not the work of God for meat. All things indeed are clean: but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence. 20 for the sake of victuals cast not down the work of God; all things, indeed, are pure, but evil is to the man who is eating through stumbling.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
21 It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother stumbles.21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.21 It is good not to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor to do anything whereby thy brother stumbleth.21 It is good not to eat flesh, and not to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother is offended, or scandalized, or made weak. 21 Right it is not to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor to do anything in which thy brother doth stumble, or is made to fall, or is weak.
22 The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.22 The faith which thou hast, have thou to thyself before God. Happy is he that judgeth not himself in that which he approveth.22 Hast thou faith? Have it to thyself before God. Blessed is he that condemneth not himself in that which he alloweth. 22 Thou hast faith! to thyself have it before God; happy is he who is not judging himself in what he doth approve,
23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin.23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.23 But he that doubteth is condemned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith; and whatsoever is not of faith is sin.23 But he that discerneth, if he eat, is condemned; because not of faith. For all that is not of faith is sin. 23 and he who is making a difference, if he may eat, hath been condemned, because it is not of faith; and all that is not of faith is sin.
