 for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes."18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.18 for I say unto you, I shall not drink from henceforth of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.18 For I say to you, that I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, till the kingdom of God come. 18 for I say to you that I may not drink of the produce of the vine till the reign of God may come.'

 And they began to discuss among themselves which one of them it might be who was going to do this thing.23 And they began to enquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.23 And they began to question among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.23 And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing. 23 And they began to reason among themselves, who then of them it may be, who is about to do this thing.
Who Is Greatest
 And there arose also a dispute among them as to which one of them was regarded to be greatest.24 And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.24 And there arose also a contention among them, which of them was accounted to be greatest.24 And there was also a strife amongst them, which of them should seem to be the greater. 24 And there happened also a strife among them -- who of them is accounted to be greater.
 And He said to them, "The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who have authority over them are called 'Benefactors.'25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.25 And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles have lordship over them; and they that have authority over them are called Benefactors.25 And he said to them: The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and they that have power over them, are called beneficent. 25 And he said to them, 'The kings of the nations do exercise lordship over them, and those exercising authority upon them are called benefactors;

 "But it is not this way with you, but the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant.26 But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.26 But ye'shall not be'so: but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.26 But you not so: but he that is the greater among you, let him become as the younger; and he that is the leader, as he that serveth. 26 but ye are not so, but he who is greater among you -- let him be as the younger; and he who is leading, as he who is ministering;
 "For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves.27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.27 For which is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am in the midst of you as he that serveth.27 For which is greater, he that sitteth at table, or he that serveth? Is it not he that sitteth at table? But I am in the midst of you, as he that serveth: 27 for who is greater? he who is reclining (at meat), or he who is ministering? is it not he who is reclining (at meat)? and I -- I am in your midst as he who is ministering.
 "You are those who have stood by Me in My trials;28 Ye are they which have continued with me in my temptations.28 But ye are they that have continued with me in my temptations;28 And you are they who have continued with me in my temptations: 28 'And ye -- ye are those who have remained with me in my temptations,
 and just as My Father has granted Me a kingdom, I grant you29 And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father hath appointed unto me;29 and I appoint unto you a kingdom, even as my Father appointed unto me,29 And I dispose to you, as my Father hath disposed to me, a kingdom; 29 and I appoint to you, as my Father did appoint to me, a kingdom,
 that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.30 that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom; and ye shall sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.30 That you may eat and drink at my table, in my kingdom: and may sit upon thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 30 that ye may eat and may drink at my table, in my kingdom, and may sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.'

 "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat;31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:31 Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat:31 And the Lord said: Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 31 And the Lord said, 'Simon, Simon, lo, the Adversary did ask you for himself to sift as the wheat,
 but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers."32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.32 but I made supplication for thee, that thy faith fail not; and do thou, when once thou hast turned again, establish thy brethren.32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and thou, being once converted, confirm thy brethren. 32 and I besought for thee, that thy faith may not fail; and thou, when thou didst turn, strengthen thy brethren.'
 But he said to Him, "Lord, with You I am ready to go both to prison and to death!"33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.33 And he said unto him, Lord, with thee I am ready to go both to prison and to death.33 Who said to him: Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death. 33 And he said to him, 'Sir, with thee I am ready both to prison and to death to go;'
 And He said, "I say to you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me."34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before that thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, until thou shalt thrice deny that thou knowest me.34 And he said: I say to thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, till thou thrice deniest that thou knowest me. And he said to them: 34 and he said, 'I say to thee, Peter, a cock shall not crow to-day, before thrice thou mayest disown knowing me.'
 And He said to them, "When I sent you out without money belt and bag and sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?" They said, "No, nothing."35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.35 And he said unto them, When I sent you forth without purse, and wallet, and shoes, lacked ye anything? And they said, Nothing.35 When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, did you want anything? 35 And he said to them, 'When I sent you without bag, and scrip, and sandals, did ye lack anything?' and they said, 'Nothing.'

 And He said to them, "But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one.36 Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.36 And he said unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet; and he that hath none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.36 But they said: Nothing. Then said he unto them: But now he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise a scrip; and he that hath not, let him sell his coat, and buy a sword. 36 Then said he to them, 'But, now, he who is having a bag, let him take it up, and in like manner also a scrip; and he who is not having, let him sell his garment, and buy a sword,
 "For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in Me, 'AND HE WAS NUMBERED WITH TRANSGRESSORS'; for that which refers to Me has its fulfillment."37 For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.37 For I say unto you, that this which is written must be fulfilled in me, And he was reckoned with transgressors: for that which concerneth me hath fulfilment.37 For I say to you, that this that is written must yet be fulfilled in me: And with the wicked was he reckoned. For the things concerning me have an end. 37 for I say to you, that yet this that hath been written it behoveth to be fulfilled in me: And with lawless ones he was reckoned, for also the things concerning me have an end.'
 They said, "Lord, look, here are two swords." And He said to them, "It is enough."38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.38 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords. And he said unto them, It is enough.38 But they said: Lord, behold here are two swords. And he said to them, It is enough. 38 And they said, 'Sir, lo, here are two swords;' and he said to them, 'It is sufficient.'
The Garden of Gethsemane
 And He came out and proceeded as was His custom to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed Him.39 And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.39 And he came out, and went, as his custom was, unto the mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed him.39 And going out, he went, according to his custom, to the mount of Olives. And his disciples also followed him. 39 And having gone forth, he went on, according to custom, to the mount of the Olives, and his disciples also followed him,
 When He arrived at the place, He said to them, "Pray that you may not enter into temptation."40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.40 And when he was come to the place, he said to them: Pray, lest ye enter into temptation. 40 and having come to the place, he said to them, 'Pray ye not to enter into temptation.'

 And He withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and He knelt down and began to pray,41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,41 And he was parted from them about a stone's cast; and he kneeled down and prayed,41 And he was withdrawn away from them a stone's cast; and kneeling down, he prayed, 41 And he was withdrawn from them, as it were a stone's cast, and having fallen on the knees he was praying,
 saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done."42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.42 saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.42 Saying: Father, if thou wilt, remove this chalice from me: but yet not my will, but thine be done. 42 saying, 'Father, if Thou be counselling to make this cup pass from me -- ;but, not my will, but Thine be done.' --
 Now an angel from heaven appeared to Him, strengthening Him.43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.43 And there appeared unto him an angel from heaven, strengthening him.43 And there appeared to him an angel from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony, he prayed the longer. 43 And there appeared to him a messenger from heaven strengthening him;
 And being in agony He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground.44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly; and his sweat became as it were great drops of blood falling down upon the ground.44 And his sweat became as drops of blood, trickling down upon the ground. 44 and having been in agony, he was more earnestly praying, and his sweat became, as it were, great drops of blood falling upon the ground.
 When He rose from prayer, He came to the disciples and found them sleeping from sorrow,45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,45 And when he rose up from his prayer, he came unto the disciples, and found them sleeping for sorrow,45 And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow. 45 And having risen up from the prayer, having come unto the disciples, he found them sleeping from the sorrow,

Get up and pray that you may not enter into temptation."46 And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.46 and said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.46 And he said to them: Why sleep you? arise, pray, lest you enter into temptation. 46 and he said to them, 'Why do ye sleep? having risen, pray that ye may not enter into temptation.'
Jesus Betrayed by Judas
 While He was still speaking, behold, a crowd came, and the one called Judas, one of the twelve, was preceding them; and he approached Jesus to kiss Him.47 And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.47 While he yet spake, behold, a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them; and he drew near unto Jesus to kiss him.47 As he was yet speaking, behold a multitude; and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near to Jesus, for to kiss him. 47 And while he is speaking, lo, a multitude, and he who is called Judas, one of the twelve, was coming before them, and he came nigh to Jesus to kiss him,
 But Jesus said to him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"48 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?48 But Jesus said unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?48 And Jesus said to him: Judas, dost thou betray the Son of man with a kiss? 48 and Jesus said to him, 'Judas, with a kiss the Son of Man dost thou deliver up?'
 When those who were around Him saw what was going to happen, they said, "Lord, shall we strike with the sword?"49 When they which were about him saw what would follow, they said unto him, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?49 And when they that were about him saw what would follow, they said, Lord, shall we smite with the sword?49 And they that were about him, seeing what would follow, said to him: Lord, shall we strike with the sword? 49 And those about him, having seen what was about to be, said to him, 'Sir, shall we smite with a sword?'
 And one of them struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his right ear.50 And one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.50 And a certain one of them smote the servant of the high priest, and struck off his right ear.50 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear. 50 And a certain one of them smote the servant of the chief priest, and took off his right ear,

 But Jesus answered and said, "Stop! No more of this." And He touched his ear and healed him.51 And Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.51 But Jesus answered and said, Suffer ye them thus far. And he touched his ear, and healed him.51 But Jesus answering, said: Suffer ye thus far. And when he had touched his ear, he healed him. 51 and Jesus answering said, 'Suffer ye thus far,' and having touched his ear, he healed him.
 Then Jesus said to the chief priests and officers of the temple and elders who had come against Him, "Have you come out with swords and clubs as you would against a robber?52 Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?52 And Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and elders, that were come against him, Are ye come out, as against a robber, with swords and staves?52 And Jesus said to the chief priests, and magistrates of the temple, and the ancients, that were come unto him: Are ye come out, as it were against a thief, with swords and clubs? 52 And Jesus said to those having come upon him -- chief priests, and magistrates of the temple, and elders -- 'As upon a robber have ye come forth, with swords and sticks?
 "While I was with you daily in the temple, you did not lay hands on Me; but this hour and the power of darkness are yours."53 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.53 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched not forth your hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.53 When I was daily with you in the temple, you did not stretch forth your hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness. 53 while daily I was with you in the temple, ye did stretch forth no hands against me; but this is your hour and the power of the darkness.'
Jesus’ Arrest
 Having arrested Him, they led Him away and brought Him to the house of the high priest; but Peter was following at a distance.54 Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.54 And they seized him, and led him away , and brought him into the high priest's house. But Peter followed afar off.54 And apprehending him, they led him to the high priest's house. But Peter followed afar off. 54 And having taken him, they led and brought him to the house of the chief priest. And Peter was following afar off,
 After they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter was sitting among them.55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and had sat down together, Peter sat in the midst of them.55 And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were sitting about it, Peter was in the midst of them. 55 and they having kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and having sat down together, Peter was sitting in the midst of them,

 And a servant-girl, seeing him as he sat in the firelight and looking intently at him, said, "This man was with Him too."56 But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.56 And a certain maid seeing him as he sat in the light of the fire , and looking stedfastly upon him, said, This man also was with him.56 Whom when a certain servant maid had seen sitting at the light, and had earnestly beheld him, she said: This man also was with him. 56 and a certain maid having seen him sitting at the light, and having earnestly looked at him, she said, 'And this one was with him!'
 But he denied it, saying, "Woman, I do not know Him."57 And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.57 But he denied, saying, Woman, I know him not.57 But he denied him, saying: Woman, I know him not. 57 and he disowned him, saying, 'Woman, I have not known him.'
 A little later, another saw him and said, "You are one of them too!" But Peter said, "Man, I am not!"58 And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou art also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.58 And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou also art one of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.58 And after a little while, another seeing him, said: Thou also art one of them. But Peter said: O man, I am not. 58 And after a little, another having seen him, said, 'And thou art of them!' and Peter said, 'Man, I am not.'
 After about an hour had passed, another man began to insist, saying, "Certainly this man also was with Him, for he is a Galilean too."59 And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.59 And after the space of about one hour another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this man also was with him; for he is a Galilaean.59 And after the space, as it were of one hour, another certain man affirmed, saying: Of a truth, this man was also with him; for he is also a Galilean. 59 And one hour, as it were, having intervened, a certain other was confidently affirming, saying, 'Of a truth this one also was with him, for he is also a Galilean;'
 But Peter said, "Man, I do not know what you are talking about." Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.60 But Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.60 And Peter said: Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, as he was yet speaking, the cock crew. 60 and Peter said, 'Man, I have not known what thou sayest;' and presently, while he is speaking, a cock crew.
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
 The Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had told him, "Before a rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times."61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.61 And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said unto him, Before the cock crow this day thou shalt deny me thrice.61 And the Lord turning looked on Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, as he had said: Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. 61 And the Lord having turned did look on Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he said to him -- 'Before a cock shall crow, thou mayest disown me thrice;'
 And he went out and wept bitterly.62 And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.62 And he went out, and wept bitterly.62 And Peter going out, wept bitterly. 62 and Peter having gone without, wept bitterly.
 Now the men who were holding Jesus in custody were mocking Him and beating Him,63 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.63 And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and beat him.63 And the men that held him, mocked him, and struck him. 63 And the men who were holding Jesus were mocking him, beating him;
 and they blindfolded Him and were asking Him, saying, "Prophesy, who is the one who hit You?"64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?64 And they blindfolded him, and asked him, saying, Prophesy: who is he that struck thee?64 And they blindfolded him, and smote his face. And they asked him, saying: Prophesy, who is it that struck thee? 64 and having blindfolded him, they were striking him on the face, and were questioning him, saying, 'Prophesy who he is who smote thee?'
 And they were saying many other things against Him, blaspheming.65 And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.65 And many other things spake they against him, reviling him.65 And blaspheming, many other things they said against him. 65 and many other things, speaking evilly, they spake in regard to him.
Jesus before the Sanhedrin
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
 When it was day, the Council of elders of the people assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Him away to their council chamber, saying,66 And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,66 And as soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes; and they led him away into their council, saying,66 And as soon as it was day, the ancients of the people, and the chief priests and scribes, cane together; and they brought him into their council, saying: If thou be the Christ, tell us. 66 And when it became day there was gathered together the eldership of the people, chief priests also, and scribes, and they led him up to their own sanhedrim,
 "If You are the Christ, tell us." But He said to them, "If I tell you, you will not believe;67 Art thou the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:67 If thou art the Christ, tell us. But he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:67 And he saith to them: If I shall tell you, you will not believe me. 67 saying, 'If thou be the Christ, tell us.' And he said to them, 'If I may tell you, ye will not believe;
 and if I ask a question, you will not answer.68 And if I also ask you, ye will not answer me, nor let me go.68 and if I ask you , ye will not answer.68 And if I shall also ask you, you will not answer me, nor let me go. 68 and if I also question you, ye will not answer me or send me away;
 "But from now on THE SON OF MAN WILL BE SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND of the power OF GOD."69 Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.69 But from henceforth shall the Son of man be seated at the right hand of the power of God.69 But hereafter the Son of man shall be sitting on the right hand of the power of God. 69 henceforth, there shall be the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of the power of God.'
 And they all said, "Are You the Son of God, then?" And He said to them, "Yes, I am."70 Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.70 And they all said, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Ye say that I am.70 Then said they all: Art thou then the Son of God? Who said: You say that I am. 70 And they all said, 'Thou, then, art the Son of God?' and he said unto them, 'Ye say it, because I am;'
NASBKJVASVDRBYLT
 Then they said, "What further need do we have of testimony? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth."71 And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.71 And they said, What further need have we of witness? for we ourselves have heard from his own mouth.71 And they said: What need we any further testimony? for we ourselves have heard it from his own mouth. 71 and they said, 'What need yet have we of testimony? for we ourselves did hear it from his mouth.'
